Paper Certificates

If you want to give a paper certificate to someone For those following along, you have a few choices:

• Buy from your brokerage and ask them to do all the work(for a fee)
• Use a site like above that will do it all for about 2X the cost.
• Buy from your normal brokerage and then transfer the stock to the transfer agent(probably computershare[0]), Then ask the transfer agent for a paper copy.
• Setup an account @ the transfer agent, buy directly from them, then ask for a paper certificate.

Computer Share is a very common transfer agent for US companies. In 2014 they were charging between $25 and $40 for a paper certificate issuance. Officially they have no set price at the moment, only “A fee may apply to a request for a certificate issuance.”
